Last month, I saw my 300th bird species, since I began keeping track in 2005! So on Monday, in order to celebrate the diversity of New England bird life that I've witnessed and to help improve your bird identification skills, I'll be posting a bird matching game -- the first in a series of 30. Each game will feature a randomly arranged gallery of untitled photos for your identification pleasure, followed by a list of 10 bird names in my Life List order. I know that studying photographs cannot replace time in the field observing live, wild birds, but images can serve as valuable teaching tools. I hope you find this forthcoming series both educational and entertaining. May the birds be with you!
